REVELATION OF HORSE
The first impulse for the painting of horse came from short-term vision. Image in my mind represented a black horse who was standing on a green meadow. His body was as dark as intensive shadow, his long legs were resembling trunks of high and thin trees in forest. Behind the creature was visible a sunset. The final painting appeared slightly differently form the image in vision. Far more engaging, that the green meadow, became for me a deserted plough field. Ploughed soils served as device for expressing a distance behind a black horse and at its ends emerged traces of forest. The painting obtained name “Autumn”. In a similar way was created the painting “Summer”, here was a model for painting a vision of subtly golden horse on the background of dark infertile landscape. Not until a process of constructing the image had begun, the fata morgana in a form of oasis has appeared. Gradually, the visions kept losing its intensity and became more and more indefinite. They left traces only in a form of impression from a warmly coloured horse and standing in a cold landscape. Some images, as the “Winter”, were repainted several times, until they obtained their final appearance. Flagrant contrast between the stormy, cold, infertile, or deserted landscape and mighty, strong, and calm horse come to the fore. Subsequently, I have interpreted the images as horse bringing a hope in cheerless situation (from this resulted the original title “Horse Brings Hope”). I see reasons, why the vision interested me so much and a need to materialize a horse was unflagging, in my personal desire for having own horse.
